12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

1.) The segment that I am choosing to focus on is a group of people who are environmentally conscious. I believe this is a good beginning segment to target because it will be easiest to convince these people to buy my product. 2/3.) Interviewee #1: Fits the need Interviewee #2: Fits the need Interviewee #3: Fits the need 4.) The majority of the people that I interviewed claimed that they first asked their close family members if they knew how to fit an unmet need. They then typically went to google where they would ask a question related to their unmet need. 5.) To reiterate from my other posts, the need I am choosing is eliminating plastic waste the hards our environment. I learned that the need that I have taken the task to solve is a need that everyone has because we all share the same planet that we are slowly destroying. No one can argue that this isn't their issue. 6.) I believe that the solution to my problem is to inform people as much as possible abou...

1.) My name is Kerry Thomas from Long Island New York. I am currently a finance major here at UF. My skills include athletics, socializing, problem-solving and mathematics. Captaining sports teams, a finance internship, and years of education are a few things that show my experience. My aspirations are to make the world a better place regardless of how much effort it requires. My invention proposal is the "Eco-Shredder", which can eliminate plastic waste by over 50% and make it more efficient to recycle. 2.) This would be a government-sponsored program where households would be voluntarily given these machines at an affordable price. Households would then be given tax breaks in increasing increments depending on how many pounds of plastic each household returned. The returned plastic is ...

Testing the hypothesis, part 1

1.) The opportunity that I want to pursue is helping ensure a clean environment for generations to come. My idea of the "Eco Shredder" is a great way to help take steps to a cleaner environment while also saving the american taxpayers their hard earned dollars. 2/3.) America is one of the largest pollution contributers in the world, this is a problem of every single inhabitant on the planet earth because one day there is not going to be a place left to put all of our waste. The "Eco Shredder" would help combat our wastful habbits by shredding all of the plastic material that would otherwise go into landfill into fine peices. Americans who return their shredded plastic so that it can be recycled then receive a tax reduction per lb of material given back. The tax return helps insentivize americans that otherwise wouldn't want to help contribute towards a cleaner environment. 4/5.) In my inteviews I was able to find a general consensus that most people at least...

identifying opportunities

Economic Opportunity 1: The cryptocurrency crash ( https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/02/bitcoin-ethereum-ripple-price-falls-over-100-billion-wiped-off-global-cryptocurrency-market.html ) Cryptocurrencies have been a hot topic in our world of late. The initial surge of these currencies such as the notorious Bitcoin made people millionaires in a matter of weeks. As of yesterday, the market for cryptocurrencies has crashed, leaving some people with their pockets empty and scratching their head.  With the downward trend of this market, many would suggest that now is a great time to buy because people still expect these currencies to be of use in our future. The prototypical customer would be any willing investors. This opportunity to invest in cryptocurrencies is very easy to exploit. all customers have to do is find a virtual wallet platform and they can buy these currencies online immediately. I saw this opportunity because I have been studying this market for almost an entire...
