Entrepreneurship and me
Entrepreneurship influences my life each and every day. The mindset revolves around influencing people and making progress. One particular entrepreneurial experience that comes to mind that took place in my hometown on Long Island, NY. I was shopping with my sister at a "Journeys" outlet store with no real intent to make any purchases. While looking at the shoe rack there was this one pair of shoes that were in a special display case. The shoes were white Addidas and I must say they looked freaking awesome. An employee saw the look in my eye and pounced on the opportunity to sell. The guy had this charismatic aura around him that was hypnotic and entertaining. The employee described all of the positive attributes of the shoes and even pulled up the price online to show me that I was getting a fair deal. Long story short, I walked out of the store with a box of the shoes. I didn't regret my purchase, but, I walked out of the store feeling confused as to why I changed my mind so quick. I then realized that I was influenced greatly by the entrepreneur that sold me on the shoes.
I enrolled into ENC3003 because I needed the senior level elective credit and this seemed like the most interesting class that was offered. I hope to able to gain valuable life and career skills as well as learn a thing or two.

Kerry, I really enjoyed reading your entrepreneurship story. Although people assume that entrepreneurship only involved a person running their own company, it really does come in my forms, your story is a great example! I feel like being an entrepreneur, you would have to know psychology too, to convince someone to purchase your goods or services. I must agree though, it is very hard walking into Journeys without having that urge to purchase a new pair of shoes!
