napkin idea (revised)

Hey guys!

My name is Kerry Thomas and I'm a finance major here at the University of Florida. I grew up on Long Island in New York where I spent most of my time doing outdoor activities. These activities included: lacrosse, hunting, fishing, boating, beaching it, and more. My appreciation for my environment is endless and I want to help keep it beautiful and safe. The current trend of environmental destruction via pollution and human ignorance bothers me and that is why I chose the idea that I did.

Customers, what I offer to you is a way to save money as well as a way to contribute towards a cleaner environment. My idea, the Eco-Shredder is a machine which breaks down plastic waste into tiny pieces. Each week, these bits would be collected along with your other garbage. The plastic that you gave would then be weighed and you would then receive a tax refund at the end of each year for the amount of plastic you helped recycle.

I am offering the Eco-Shredder to any American who lives in a house, condo, or apartment. The Eco-Shredder is for anyone who wants to make a difference and save money.

The customers WILL care because they will want to invest in saving money as well as preserving this world for their kids and generations to come.

What sets my idea apart from everyone else is because of the amount I have thought this through, no other invention has the capabilities to benefit the environment as much as the Eco-Shredder. Many people will go to great lengths to save money, and many people will also do whatever to help make the world a better place for their kids. I think that the combination of these two incentives is really what sets my invention apart from the rest.

The feedback that I recieved from my original "Idea Napkin" post was to keep thinking outside the box and to remain knowledgeable on my topic. Although the comments weren't necessarily critical of my idea I'll take the comments into account by continuing to do my best and innovate.
